My Paris story

The summer of 2013 was setting up to be a bummer for me.

My hubby had a work conference he was heading off to in Paris for a week. I had never been to Europe nevermind Paris, so I would spend my days and nights searching up little cafes I insisted he visit, or parks and museums he had to send me pictures from. "I'm there for work. I'll be super busy. I won't have time to do any of that. Plus, I don't want ot do any of those things without the two of you".

Our daughter was one at the time, so to make the week he would be there a bit easier - and trying to avoid thinking about all the croissants he would be having - I booked the week off of work and slowly had started to make some tentative plans for Violet and I.

But then something happened. Two days before the flight, he walked into the kitchen holding his phone. "Hey, there is a crazy seat sale on the flight I'm on. You two should come with me."

What? Wait? What? My mind and heart and belly did a flipflop 12 times in a row. I had to grab on to the counter to steady myself.

I - we - could go to Paris? In two days? Is this really happening?

The flight ended up costing $523. My daughter happily sat on my lap so she didn't need a ticket, plus the plane was half empty (that might explain the seat sale). The hotel & transportation were already taken care of, so it ended up being one of the cheapest vacations we ever took. And even though my partner-in-crime was stuck in meetings all day, goodness my daughter and I walked that entire city. We visited every bakery and every little park. It was magic. We were in Paris. (The pic below is of the two of us in some fancy park just having the time of our lives).

I am telling you this because whenever I have to make a decision, I think about Paris. Some concert tickets for a band I want to see pop up and I think "I'll hold off to buying these until the last day, because what if some crazy last minute opportunity - like Paris - pops up". I wait until the very last minute.

So my question to you is . . has Paris popped up for you yet? Sunday is the last day to save your spot for our October 7 Day Reset. If I was you, I'd be in the exact same place. I would have read the emails about the Reset, thought yeah, it sounds good, yeah I could use a week to focus on myself, my healing, getting my digestion back on track, I really do need to give myself some serious TLC, but I'll wait until the last day to sign up just incase something like Paris pops up.

So if your version of Paris did pop up, WOW! Send me pictures. But if it didn't and you really do thing you want to do this amazing thing for yourself, to press your reset button, I can not wait to welcome you and fully support you through this. I have 14 spots left for our October 7 Day Reset. I surely do hope one of those spots has your name on it.

They said the snow would start at 7am today. First they said we'd receive 10 cm, then they changed it to 20cm. I made tea, raked up our last haul of leaves, and sat by the fireplace and watched the 40 foot birch in our front yard. Sometimes I feel like she and I have a lot in common. Although she has already released most of her leaves, prepping for her winter hibernation, she has this huge branch that is clinging to every last ochre leaf as if to say "I'm not quite ready yet". Goodness, I...
